Six tips for Winter Wellness

1 Warm Up.

2 Limit the spread of germs

Remember to cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow. Wash your hands regularly using soap and warm water and scrub for at least 20 seconds. If you can’t wash your hands, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Remind those around you to do the same!

3 Stay hydrated

Drinking enough water each day boosts your immune system and helps you fight viruses. Water is important to help flush the kidneys, for joint mobility and to keep us hydrated. Aim for at least 8 glasses each day and if you find water to be too cold, topping it up with some freshly boiled from the kettle will do no harm.

4 Keep Moving

Cold weather makes you want to cuddle up under blankets by the fireside drinking huge mugs of tea. But moving is important, and I do not mean from the couch to the armchair. Exercising those limbs, and your whole body are very important. And if the cold keeps you indoors, today we can download apps on our phones and follow videos on YouTube. So no excuses there! 5 Practice Mindful Eating for complete nourishment

Food is to be enjoyed but the main purpose is to keep us nourished. Seasonal fruit and vegetables gives us what we need in terms of nutrients. So stock up on local fresh oranges! Avoid processed foods as much as possible and choose home cooked meals instead. Not so easy? Complement your meals with the right supplements.
